In Jungfrau region, we hiked three big hikes. The first two days were sunny and beautiful weather, but the rest of the time here was pretty cloudy and rainy. I was grateful that we had the two days to see most of the mountains and made the best of the weather. Some days it was difficult to see the mountains and felt like you were in the clouds.
#1 Northface Trail- Take your breath away!

This was one of my favorite hikes and actually one of my most favorite hikes ever! We started in Mürren near the Schilthorn station and hiked uphill for a more challenging experience. We encountered stunning mountain views, expansive fields and huts, a crystal-clear mountain stream, and had some friendly interactions with a cow or two. At the end of our hike we were rewarded with an amazing traditional Swiss lunch and drinks at a local hut.

#2 Schynige Platte – Faulhorn Hike- Toughest Hike

10.5 mi, 2300 ft up and 2800 ft down. We took the packed train of eager hikers early in the morning from Wengen to Schynige Platte. The ride up the mountain was pretty underwhelming as you couldn’t see a thing out the windows, just clouds and clouds. When we got to the top of the platform, the peaks started to poke out and blue sky. A local said to us, ” just wait ten minutes and the views will change.” We may have not seen the amazing jaw dropping views that we were supposed to see on the cliff walk of the mountain, but we still saw some pretty sweet views. We were in Switzerland together in the mountains- nothing better than this!

#3 Mannlichen Panorama Trail- More cowbell!

This hike was a moderate hike and a cable car away from Wengen. This was our very first hike and really captured the ambience of the Swiss scenery of the cow bells in the distance and mountains surrounding you. The feeling you get when you first come up to these mountains is like a suspense novel- dramatic and leaves you wanting more!

Looks amazing!
