Banana Bread Pancakes
I have NEVER done a diet in my life. They didn’t really interest me. I feel like I’ve always been a pretty healthy eater. There was that time though when I wanted to become a vegetarian just because. Then my parents made steak that night. I’m from Nebraska so I realized that it was in my DNA to enjoy a good steak and I wasn’t going to pass that up. So that idea lasted not even a day!
My friends encouraged me to join them for the month of January to take this Whole30 challenge. This was perfect timing after indulging myself during the holidays and not feeling the greatest. This is why I accepted this Whole30 challenge to continue a healthy lifestyle. I also wanted to feel like I had more energy for my two wild and crazy boys. I’m not sure anybody could have that much energy, but I’m keeping up!
This diet seemed different though, not like a diet but more like a lifestyle. The point was to flush out my system for 30 days so that I could slowly add different food groups back to see how it affected my health. I gave up soy, dairy, grains, alcohol, legumes, and added sugars for a whole 30 days straight. No Booze for 30 days, what?! I must have been crazy to think I could do this to myself for 30 days while staying at home 24/7 with my family.
I’m here today writing this blog to say I survived and actually really enjoyed the Whole30 experience. Am I back to drinking, why HELL YES! However, I’m still experimenting with even more Whole30 recipe ideas on Pinterest and sticking with my favorites.
I’d like to share some of my favorite Whole30 recipes on the blog with you today below!
Heck, maybe you too will accept this challenge! Bon appetit!
